New York, July 13 1977. A total blackout paralyzes Manhattan and will change Miles Davis's life.

While the city is bankrupt, an unprecedented heat wave rages and the killer Son of Sam roams the streets.
Cloistered at home since 2 years, gnawed by drugs and weakened by various aches, the famous musician Miles Davis has put an end to his career and is bogged down in depression. But everything is going to change. As the light turns off, Miles doesn't have any other choice but to go out. He will roam the streets stormed by the crowd and start a hallucinatory trip that will revive some of the most significant, the most tragic, the most violent episodes in the history of the city.

Michaël Mention was born in 1979. Passionate about drawing and writing from a very early age, his detective trilogy was awarded with the Grand Prix du Roman Noir at the Beaune International Festival in 2013 and with the Prix Transfuge Meilleur Espoir Polar in 2015. His novel Power received the Grand Prix at the Festival Sans Nom in 2018.
