1971, Haiti. Rosalie Adolphe is certainly the most powerful woman in the country. Under President François Duvalier/Papa Doc, she mercilessly hunts down opponents of the regime and participates in massacres, such as the killing of the Sansaricq family.
1986. Sybille is the last survivor of the Sansaricq family. A member of the rebellion, she seeks revenge on the militiamen who brutally killed her family twenty years earlier. Accompanied by Jacques, a trafficker with whom she is madly in love, she is determined to put an end to the violent Duvalier regime and to free Haiti.
