1898. Louis discovers the remains of Siamese twins who had been sawed up in the basement of a Parisian clinic. The murderer's trail leads him to the banks of the Mediterranean Sea, and onto the famous Saint-Honorat Monastery, where strange phenomena seem to be taking place.

Brigitte Aubert works as a program planner for the cinema and has published fifteen or so thrillers (Le Seuil) , as well as detective novels for young adults.
