The Hand of Glory

Jean-Luc BIZIEN

This is how profiling started

At the end of the 19th century, Paris is a melting pot of artistic and scientific modernity. At the Salpêtrière Hospital, modern psychiatry is being born under the influence of Jean-Martin Charcot and his revolutionary work on hypnosis and hysteria.
Influenced by the scientist, Doctor Bloomberg begins experimenting new methods: medicinal treatment, of course, but the patient's freedom as an essential aspect of the healing process. When young Englishwoman Sarah Englewood joins his team, she immediately succumbs to the charm of this out of the ordinary scientist and becomes fascinated by the mystery that surrounds him.

- A fast-paced and original series that offers a keen analysis of the Parisian society at the end of the 19th century, as well as the origin of profiling and the establishment of new techniques of
investigation.
- A Sherlock Holmes specialist in psychology and his dauntless assistant form a daring duo who reminds us of The Avengers series.

Jean-Luc Bizien used to be a teacher. He published numerous children's and adults' books.
