Geronimo And I

Lilian Bathelot

A heroine of the Paris Commune finds refuge in the Indian troops of Geronimo.

The research of Dezba Asdzáni, a specialist in Native American cultures, is about to change, as she has stumbled upon extremely valuable documents: the diary of Francine V., a Communard who fled Paris to cross the Atlantic and hide in the American West. These diaries tell the story of an era and the adventures of a young woman with a fiery temperament, caught up in History, from Louise Michel to Buffalo Bill.
As a journalist for Le Cri du Peuple in Paris, Francine leads an investigation that implicates the Communards in a sinister affair of droit de seigneur on female servants. Her quest for the truth will put her in danger and lead her to leave Paris right after the terrible Bloody Week in May 1871. Francine goes to Normandy, to take a boat to the United States. In California, she will get involved in the Native American cause, meet Indian warriors and fight the European invasion alongside the great war chief Geronimo and Buffalo Bill's troops.
But her investigation will soon catch up with her and force her to go back to France, to do her best to bring to light the cause of mistreated women.
